NightShift with Nonin WristOX – Positional Sleep Assessment System (PoSAS)
Manufacturer: ABM
The Positional Sleep Assessment System (PoSAS) is a compact, cost-effective tool that measures the effects of sleep position on sleep-disordered breathing, snoring, and sleep quality. It supports personalised treatment pathways by identifying candidates for oral appliance therapy, positional therapy, or combination therapy, with easy-to-interpret automated reports.
The Positional Sleep Assessment System (PoSAS) is an easy-to-use, cost-effective tool that helps clinicians personalise sleep apnoea therapy options based on a patient’s sleeping position. With 29 integrated metrics, PoSAS measures the impact of supine and non-supine positions on sleep quality, sleep-disordered breathing, and snoring patterns.
Designed for use in both diagnostic and therapy-monitoring settings, PoSAS assists clinicians in identifying positional obstructive sleep apnoea (POSA) and optimising non-PAP treatment pathways such as oral appliance therapy and positional therapy. An automated efficacy report condenses results into key metrics, supporting tailored and effective OSA management.
- Automated calculation of positional oxygen desaturation index (ODI) with both 3% and 4% desaturation criteria
- Actigraphy-based assessment of sleep time, sleep efficiency, wake after sleep onset (WASO), and awakenings per hour
- Measurement of autonomic activation index through pulse rate variability
- Snoring metrics captured across overall, supine, and non-supine sleep periods
- Generates a clear efficacy report summarising patient suitability for oral appliance therapy, positional therapy, or combination approaches
- Integrates easily into sleep lab, dental sleep, and clinical environments
- Supports pre-operative OSA screening processes.
- Identify patients with positional obstructive sleep apnoea (POSA)
- Support treatment planning for oral appliance therapy, positional therapy, or combined therapies
- Monitor therapy outcomes for patients using non-PAP solutions
- Conduct pre-operative OSA screening to assess sleep-disordered breathing risks
- Provide detailed sleep, breathing, and snoring analysis in clinical and research settings.
