The BodyCap eCelsius System is revolutionary in the collection of core body temperature data. BodyCap e-Celsius ingestible capsules are the gold standard for accurate, reliable heat stress monitoring in sports and occupational physiology.
The core body temperature capsule provides more accurate core body temperature measurement than ear and skin temperature measurements. They are also vastly more pleasant to use for subjects and researchers than rectal measurement.

The capsule easily travels and passes through the GI tract continuously monitoring gastrointestinal temperatures without affecting bodily functions. Transmit time varies with individuals; 12-48 hours is typical. Unlike other systems the revolutionary e-Celsius pill records up to 2,000 data points on to the capsule. This eliminates the need for a subject to were a data logger during the activity such as swimming, cycling or a contact sport such as rugby.
BodyCap e-Celsius performance pill measures core body temperature or gastrointestinal temperature. Every 30 seconds, the e-Celsius capsule wirelessly transmits internal temperature measurements to an external monitor called the e-Viewer Performance Monitor. The e-celsius activator is used to turn the pill on from standby mode and connect the e-celsius capsule with the monitor for data collection in either real-time or internal memory recovery.
The e-celsius pill stores measurements for up to 16 hours when away from the monitor. This data is then wirelessly transmitted once the pill is back within the 1-meter range. The capsule is safe, non-invasive, and easy to use, leaving the gastric system after one or two days, depending on individual transit time.
The e-Celsius Performance Complete System Includes:
- An electronic capsule, eCelsius Performance.
The capsule is delivered in unit package. Once activated, it communicates in real time, and continuously, the core temperature data. The single-use eCelsius Performance capsule is removed by natural way; it allows thus to monitor the core temperature over a period corresponding to the transit time (24-48 hours on average).
- An eCelsius Capsule Activator.
The activation box allows to take the eCelsius Performance capsule out of standby mode; it allows to activate and associate it to the receiving device.
- BodyCap ePerformance Connect or Gateway.
The ePerf Connect, works as a gateway to receive and store the temperature data collected by the capsule. ePerf Connect may be worn as a wristwatch and sends the data in real time using Bluetooth. The data can then be displayed on a smartphone or tablet, and a csv file can be downloaded.
- eViewer Performance Monitor
The performance monitor receives and records the data transmitted by the capsule. eViewer Performance monitor only displays the last data data collected in real time through a wire connection (USB), with full access to the data via PC/MAC software (csv file) for archiving or scientific exploitation.
