At BMedical, we understand that recent industry developments have prompted important questions about device safety, especially following the well-publicised recall of certain CPAP devices due to concerns around sound abatement foam.
We want to assure our customers, partners, and clinicians that BMC CPAP devices do not use the polyester-based polyurethane (PE-PUR) foam associated with these issues.
Independent Confirmation from BMC
BMC, the manufacturer of the devices we supply, has officially confirmed that PE-PUR foam is not used in any BMC products. Instead, BMC uses a flexible polyurethane foam (product name: Sealflex ESH-4), which has passed independent safety testing.

This foam, produced by INOAC Corporation, is classified as non-hazardous under Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) standards. It does not produce harmful gases during normal use and has no known risks of toxicity, carcinogenicity, or respiratory sensitisation.
