Anatomy of Ayo

AYOPro

AYOpro works with the goAYO app to provide 3 customizable programs to help support the user to beat jetlag, sleep better and boost their energy.  AYOpro also comes with a premium charging case to allow users to charge on the go.  AYOpro’s light levels and user needs are customised through the APP to the user’s individual requirements.

  • The energy program is an on-demand program that helps users to be more wakeful instantly at a desired time of the day.
  • The sleep program can help to advance or delay the sleep-wake cycle so that users can start waking up and going to bed earlier or later than usual. *note the sleep duration must remain the same
  • The travel program was designed to help the body clock adapt faster to a new time zone when traveling and alleviate the effects of jet lag. When the program is set, it proves the users with a schedule on when to use AYO and when to avoid light, following the user’s personal sleep habits and flight itinerary.

What is Light Therapy

Light therapy, sometimes called phototherapy, or bright light therapy, is the use of light to treat a broad range of health and medical conditions.

Sleep/circadian problems you can treat with light therapy

Circadian rhythm is the biological clock that regulates several physiological functions of the body, including the sleep-wake cycle, immunity, hormone secretion, and temperature.

Light therapy’s impact on the body clock lends itself to a range of conditions broadly concerned with circadian health such as:

  • Insomnia
  • Difficulty waking up
  • Jetlag
  • Shiftwork
  • Low energy

How does blue light work?

Blue light works as a natural solution for better sleep by mimicking sunlight to suppress the user’s melatonin production.  More…

What are the AYO light specs?

  • Dominant wavelength: Approx. 470nm ± 2nm
  • UV and IR Free light
  • Half-peak bandwidth: 22nm
  • Typical Irradiance (100% intensity): Approx. 250 μW/cm²
  • Light Pulse-1,000Hz (Duty Cycle, D=25-100%)

What does the capacitive sensor do?

The CAP sensor can be turned off or on from the settings menu in the App.

The CAP sensor identifies when the device is being worn.  If the user removes the glasses during a session the CAP sensor will pause the session and turn the lights off.  The session will resume from where the user left off when the glasses are put back on.

Can AYO be worn with prescription glasses?

AYO is designed to be able to be used with the most common prescription glasses’ frames. The AYO has a flexible nosepiece, which can be adjusted to allow for easier positioning of AYO over prescription glasses.

Note that prescription glasses can interfere with the light diffusion of AYO. Ensure that prescription glasses do not have a blue-light blocking filter if they are being worn with AYO.

I am getting an error message when I try to set up a new program

You can only have one of the scheduled program running at a time because they set out a program that adjusts your body clock over a period of time. If you want to change to a new program, go to the schedule menu in the AYO app and cancel the active program.

How do I adjust the light intensity?

AYO has 3 light intensity settings. The greater light intensity will reduce the amount of time it takes to experience benefits from AYO. To adjust the intensity:

  1. Put the glasses on
  2. Go to settings in the AYO App and choose from the 3 settings and confirm your choice.
  3. If you are using the AYO in either the Travel or Sleep modes, changing the sleep intensity will automatically adjust the

What is the battery life of the AYO and how do I charge the AYO?

If you are using the AYO charging case, ensure that the charging points contact points on the glasses arm are on the outside arm before inserting them into the charging case. Once inserted into the case, the glasses will begin to charge automatically. When the glasses are inserted or the case is connected to power, the battery indicator will illuminate for a few seconds to let you know the amount of battery left in the case (this does not tell you the amount of batter in the glasses- this can be checked in the APP).

If you are charging the glasses directly, set them upside down on a flat surface before connecting the charging cable.

It takes approximately 3 hours to fully recharge the glasses from 0-100%.
